Membrane Biophysics:

Impact of Lipids on Health, Disease and Therapy

25-29 June 2018 | Oporto | Portugal

This summer school in membrane biophysics and advanced spectroscopic techniques is designed in an unprecedented and innovative way at the University of Porto. Thus, it is a unique opportunity of excellence training in interesting, current and relevant subjects for graduates, masters and doctoral students.

The summer school is focused on the role of membrane lipids on the biophysical properties of cell membranes, their involvement in various physiological and pathological processes and their contribution to the rational development of new therapeutic strategies in an interdisciplinary environment.

This second edition will bring together the theoretical concepts of membrane biophysics and its application to plan and perform experiments and critically analyze the data obtained with complementary biophysical techniques.

Welcome

You are invited to attend MemBiophysics 2018, the summer school on Membrane Biophysics: Impact of Lipids on Health, Disease and Therapy, to be held from 25 to 29 June 2018 in FFUP/ICBAS complex, Oporto, Portugal.

The training program will combine theoretical-practical lectures (Seminars and Case studies) with practical-laboratorial sessions (Biophysical techniques). For more information please check Program.

The contribution of chemists, physicists, biochemists and pharmacists with ample expertise in membrane biophysics and advanced spectroscopic techniques will ensure the success and quality of MemBiophysics 2018.

The University of Porto has designated this summer school as a Continuing Educational Activity with equivalence to 3 ECTS, according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

MemBiophysics 2018 is a Satellite Summer School of 2018 IIBC (6th International Iberian Biophysics Congress & X Iberoamerican Congress of Biophysics) held in Castellón (Spain) from 20 to 22 June 2018.

We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you at MemBiophysics 2018.
