Her research interests have been focused in the fields of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry, biophysics and nanotechnology, particularly concerning the assessment of drug-membrane interactions using membrane mimetic models and the development of nanodelivery systems to overcome drug toxicity.

Her research interests have been focused in the fields of medicinal and physical inorganic chemistry, particularly concerning the design of molecules aimed to regulate metal ion levels in the human body, application of spectroscopic methods to characterize drug-membrane association and metal centers in biological systems, and the design of metal ion sensors.
